Is it normal to take leave from work for radiation? (23m)

I had Hodgkin lymphoma treated with chemo last year and returned to work (desk job) after completing chemo.

This year my doctors identified a spot on a scan they want to hit with radiation so I’m getting 40gy of radiation to my mediastinum. Originally I intended to work through the treatment because I read online it’s doable. Last week was my second week and the fatigue was already stacking up so I took a leave.

I feel a little weird/guilty for taking a leave because I thought most people work through radiation treatment. Idk if I’m just reacting weirdly or I should be toughing it out and continue working. The doctors and nurses warned me that even if I feel good enough to work today the fatigue and side effects only get worse as treatment continues.
