I will share your music in an IG Reel! [free] ✨

I'm trying to grow my social media account and I want to help out small artists by sharing songs I like! [free]

Please don't send me AI songs.

To submit:

  1. Follow my IG @ musicminutes
  2. Leave a comment/save/like my reels
  3. Send me your Song on IG DMs with something cool about it/you!
  4. If I make a video on your song, please allow collaboration posts (even if you delete from your feed it's fine) - it helps drive more reach for both of us!

All genres welcome but Pop, Rock, Indie and R&B preferred.

I'm anticipating a lot of DMs but currently have only a couple of songs in my list so far! I am limited by my ability to make videos fast but I will try to support you on IG too, even if I don't post!

See you on IG! < 3

I got Spotify verified with only 2k monthly active listeners!

Spotify rolled out “Verified by Spotify” with real human review and it's supposed to show who is not AI.

Initially they published articles saying we need 10k monthly active listeners, but a few days ago they updated it and I got the verification on my music profile which only has 1.7k monthly listeners.

It could be because I'm a pre-AI artist (I released music before AI got good), but independent artists can still take steps to improve their chance of getting verification!

A quick checklist is:

- Increase social media posting and run meta ads to increase external traffic to Spotify

- Make sure profile images have your face!

- Avoid AI generated cover art

- Make a website if you can

- Use playlisting to drive listener volume (MusicMinutes, SubmitHub)

- Report any suspicious spikes you get where it's from a single playlist and looks like bots

- Add your social links to your Spotify for Artists (you can only do it on the web platform)

...and more

This is most of the info but to see how it meets their published guidance and extra checklist points, I posted a blog on our MusicMinutes site 😊

Good luck!!

Launched today and no comments as expected! 🤓

Here's the link!

https://www.producthunt.com/products/musicminutes

Big love to anyone who has the time to support the launch, I hope I didn't put some effort into the animated GIF logo for nothing! ❤️

Problem Statement:

As an artist, I got fed up manually hunting for Spotify playlists and having to check them all for bots and payola scams. Existing tools solved some of the problem, but never gave the info clearly that an artist needs to know and always really expensive!

The Solution:

MusicMinutes. We give small artists instant access to 24,000+ searchable and verified playlist contacts where many accept free submissions. Real contacts (email, IG, or direct links) + smart quality scoring so you only pitch playlists that actually help indie artists grow. It's cheaper than all our competition and designed to be simpler to use, keeping the intelligence in the back end data algorithms.

How it works:

  • Artists search for playlists by genre, mood, or similar artists
  • The results show contacts & extended details for every playlist
  • Proprietary quality scores are focused on small-artist potential
  • Playlists can be saved to favourites
  • One-click CSV export for easy outreach
  • Reporting system helps users maintain the quality of the data

Built by an artist, for artists who want real organic growth without the headaches.

Starts at just £4/month (annual plan).

Would really appreciate if questions could be dropped on the launch!!!

In a way it's only a small step as what about the artists that use it for 90% of their track... but better than no updates and they did mention AI credits. Now they need to give listeners a choice between Human, AI, Both in their settings!

I see a lot of people saying things like "playlisting sucks" but I just wanted to point out that playlisting has its role in growing your Spotify.

I think these people:

  1. Paid for submissions and didn't get placements

Or

  1. Got placements but then don't see the benefits when their song is removed the streams stop

But

The value you get from playlists is obviously the listeners to your song but a key benefit you get is:

You send data to the algorithm telling it what other songs are similar and so how to position it when placing it in algorithmic playlists.

Meta ads give better data, but it's way more expensive per person and peoples listening tastes are not normally set in genre and style, so spending some of your budget on playlisting in combination drives some stronger algo data (especially on smaller budgets) to get the volume and placement info to the algorithm.

Be aware that you MUST check the consistency of song style and fit before submitting to playlists as it's critical to get value from playlists!

Hope this helps clarify the topic! Good luck!

Spotify for artists has a beta for it's clips feature which is where you can post a 30 second video to introduce/tell the story behind a song similar to an IG reel.

Just wondering if any of you have access to it? and whether you noticed any additional listeners coming from it or engagement on socials?

I like the concept but for I applied for the beta ages ago and haven't been added which is a bummer. If you are in the beta you will see it in the 'Videos & Visuals' tab on Spotify for artists.

If this is the first time you are hearing of it and interested in applying you can follow this to request access:

  1. Go to 'Help' in Spotify for artists on a web browser
  2. Search for clips
  3. There's a form called 'join the waitlist'

Interested to see the poll results :)

I'm very bad at speaking due to a combo of dyslexia, ADHD and low camera confidence so this is the best I could do without improvement! I have crazy respect for those posting regular long form content, it's so difficult!!

I would love to do more in the future and maybe focus on general music marketing tips, interviews and technical things like how to set up ads and the results etc (when I next release a track!)

  • Let me know what you think of the video style? improvements for the future?
  • Have you came across questions recently that you couldn't find an answer for?
  • When you go to YouTube for music marketing advice, what do want to see most?

It's stuck on 2 views right now so any support is very much appreciated! <3

MusicMinutes.co is for small music artists to search, review and pitch their music to bot checked 24,000 Spotify playlist curators!

We are starting to get some traction now with artists using the tool and a lot of feedback to help me drive useful changes so thank you so much to those folks that have signed up already! <3

After some recent feedback and some Spotify API changes, I dropped some ease of use updates. Not all are shown so I will list them here:

  1. Similar artist search now has an indicator to show which artist selections are most likely to bring results.
  2. The follower graph over time now has a colour indicator, absolute values and percentages. A user provided the feedback that the graph was misleading due to the scale fit and is happy with the changes :) after doing it I quite like it so was a great suggestion!
  3. A Spotify track player inside the details page. A user said they had to keep going to Spotify to listen through the songs and then coming back to the app which felt slow! I thought about this one for a while and played with multiple integration types. It turns out the standard embed looks best and automatically connects to people logged in Spotify accounts!
  4. I have put a more convenient play/pause button at the top so when the player has loaded, you don't have to scroll down to start the tracks!
  5. Activity has been simplified to an indicator (Active in green, Not active in Red)!

Near Future:

I have an early version of a completely new part of the app where you will be able to submit to my MusicMinutes playlists, but it's not quite ready yet as I need to do the creatives and launch/re-launch the playlists on meta ads!! :)

I welcome any questions! :)
