So long story short. Ive been experiencing lower back pain for 4 weeks now I’ve been told that Im gonna put into a holding troop for injured people. My back has been getting better and I currently feel good. I’m confident that I could run 2km in 7 minutes and under and that I’m better at tabbing than most recruits.

I’m now shitting myself that I’m gonna get medically discharged despite this and I’m sure that whoever is looking at my full medical records is gonna freak out and just kick me out.

If I do get kicked out, would I be able to appeal? Would I be allowed to try and join back again? I pray that it does not happen but it’s good to be prepared in my opinion.

I’m currently in basic but I want to leave due to not being satisfied with my future job role. It sounds stupid but I’d much rather call it quits now while I can instead of spending 4 years doing something I hate. My training team refuse to help me change job role as they’re both the same cap badge. The problem is that I’d rather leave than stick with my original job role and I wouldn’t have that option in phase 2.

Do I leave or just firm it for the next 4 years?

So long story short, I got offered electric tech but changed my mind to vehicle mech. I now want to change my job role back to electric tech but I was told it’s a phase 2 job as they’re the same cap badge.

I would also rather be in the signals instead of being a vm but my preference would still be electric tech. Due to this, I’m not sure if it’ll be smart to get a guaranteed spot in the signals now while I’m still in basic or risk it and continue onto lyneham with a chance of not being offered electric tech.

Any advice and suggestions?

Am I stuck in the army or could I still switch over?
