Compatible solar charge controller?

Hey y’all I’m putting together a couple solar nodes and I’m wondering if the waveshare solar power manager is able to accept a separate 18650 battery holder or am I stuck using the 14500 battery holder on the pcb itself?

Ansel Adams - Jackass Lakes area trip report.

https://youtu.be/DwgVZ8ZOID4?si=ArnBa8xQ7mTUx-0c

Just got back from an overnight Mon-Tue at lower Jackass lake. My ideal plan was to get to Burro lake via Norris Creek tr, stay there, cross the ridge to Lady lake, (possibly) stay there a night, and exit on the Fernandez trail. Upon arrival at the lower lake (~7:30p) a snow flurry picked up, blew for about 20 minutes, then cleared up. The next day I day hiked to middle and upper Jackass. Middle was thawed and mostly snow free (except for one bank that was north-facing). Nights dipped down around 30° there. Upper Jackass is still 90% frozen over with only the dawn shore exposed now. Anything above that (above ~9300’) will still have substantial snow especially in shaded areas . Anything mostly north-facing needs a few more weeks to melt off completely. Anything at or below 9000’ is doable. Beyond that you may need slightly better snow equipment than my yaktrax. Due the inability to camp higher than the middle lake and the lousy fishing I called my trip after one night. The next night was showing more weather coming in as well so there are still some storms/flurries rolling through. Another reason I decided to call it early!

Question about using more than one client device

I just set up a secondary solar car node (haven’t installed yet, just built and flashed). When I switch between my pocket device (t-echo) and my car node (wisblock 4631) in the Meshtastic app it seems really buggy with the channels and nodes detected. Is there a way to make using more than one device, with one app, more seamless?

Ansel Adams Wilderness Conditions?

Has anyone been out there yet this year? Norris TH or Fernandez TH? Roads seem to be pretty clear so far and I want to do a backpacking trip up there. Any info on snow line/how much snow is still up there? If not, I’ll bring back a report!

▲ 1 r/pihole

Got my pihole all set up last night and it works fine on the local network. This morning I was messing around with tailscale to have pihole on the go. However when I connect to TS on my iPhone 14 I don’t have any connection. I have TS set to use the same DNS as the rpi IP. I’ve tried removing other VPNs from my phone. Beyond that I’m not sure. It seemed like this was a popular problem a couple years ago, but none of the fixes made a whole lot of sense to me, as I’m still pretty green to all of this. Any knowledge of a stable fix or troubleshooting help is appreciated. Thanks!

ETA: Checked for “Permit all origins” and it was already selected.
