If you were active in ultimate raiding and especially FRU communities, you might've known a player named Valiaa Masume, who was famous for randomly crashing learning parties, helping people get their first clears in FRU, and commissioning LOTS of art of his character. Sadly he passed away earlier this year, and I was commissioned by a friend to draw a memorial of their two characters at the most iconic landmark of that raid series he loved so much.

Despite me knowing Valiaa for only a few short months, I found myself putting a lot of my own feelings into the drawing too. Even months after his untimely passing, I can randomly run into people whose lives he had touched, who are doing their best to carry his legacy on.

Worked on this for about a month on and off. Very happy with how it turned out, but while I originally planned on making this into a print now I'm wondering if I should make it into a standee too...

My goal with these sheets is to make it easy for an artist to reference whenever they go and commission one. With how complicated most FFXIV designs can be and the fact that most commissioners actually don't know how to take good reference screenshots, this has become a surprisingly popular service.

For my friends who are coming to the EU Fanfest as well. Good thing that I finished them before I had to start ordering merch for a future convention too, so I can combine their order with mine :D

For anyone going to the EU Fanfest, the cutoff date is 6 July to allow time for manufacturing. Simple shaded starts at $35, fully rendered starts at $100. Both include a simple background or border depending on your preference.

I am not a furry, and I am never drawing a Hrothgar again outside of specific cases. This drawing gave me so much grief for something so simple.

This was a repeat client who previously commissioned me for a reference sheet, so it was funny putting my own work to the test. Also shows the importance of a good reference sheet! I would've spent so much more time hunting down individual gear pieces if I couldn't see all the details.
