For those who walk, run, hike the section of Rivanna trail along John Warner Parkway - I spotted a couple coyotes yesterday morning walking along the trail. I often take my dog out there to hike in the early morning as the sun comes up and noticed he’s been a bit more skittish over there the past few weeks, and now I know why. The coyotes were chill and ran away when they saw us. I know this isn’t new to the area and wildlife is one of the perks of having trail access and nature around the city, but I wanted to give people who tend to be out there at dawn and dusk a heads up to be on the lookout, especially when hiking and running our dogs!
