If Sentry were a mythological god, what would he represent and what would he symbolize?

For example:

In Greco-Roman mythology, Apollo is the god of the Sun, light, prophecy, music, healing, and the arts. Son of Zeus and twin brother of the goddess Artemis, he symbolizes harmony and truth.

Dionysus is the Greek god of wine, festivity, theater, and ecstasy. His rituals celebrated joy, nature, and uninhibitedness.

In Egyptian mythology, Osiris is the god of resurrection, agriculture, and the underworld, also being the supreme judge of the dead. As the first pharaoh of Egypt, he civilized his people and taught them agriculture.

Xiuhtecuhtli (from Nahuatl "Lord of Turquoise" or "Lord of Fire") was the powerful Aztec god of fire, heat, and time. Considered the personification of life and vital energy, he was often depicted with fire burning on his head and associated with renewal in rituals such as the New Fire Ceremony.

Quetzalcoatl: represented as a "Feathered Serpent" with human features, he was the principal god of the Aztec religion. He represented life, vegetation, food, and the spiritual strength within individuals. He also represented the planet Venus.

I reread all of Bob's parts in Dark Avengers + Siege and I think I formed a theory about how Bendis wanted to fit Bob into the cosmology.

In Bendis' run, he makes very religious references and monologues that say Bob is more than just powerful, much more than a god.

He linked Void's actions to the plague that occurred in ancient Egypt, and Osborn also repeatedly called Void the "Angel of Death." In Bendis' version, Void is the representation of the Archangel Samael, also known as "The Challenger," "The Angel of Death," and "The Poison of God." Samael is the Archangel who represents necessary evil, the one who is punishmentand , like the plagues of Egypt. He is the one who fought against Jacob, and in rabbinical texts, he is the serpent of Eden who tempted Adam and Eve. In Christian Traditions, Samael is Lucifer himself, for being described as "The Fallen One". (For those who don't know, "Lucifer" is a title meaning "The Light-Bringer" or "Morning Star", not his name) However, in other texts, he appears to be represented separately. He represents everything bad in human beings. I find it very interesting that Samael also is the internal struggle, which is what Bob goes through.

As for Sentry, I think Bendis tried to make him the representation of the Archangel Michael, the one who has guarded within him the demiurge power (the very force and power of God), he is called as "who is God". He also represents the Sun, arriving in battles as the divine burning flame that wins any battle. He represents the struggle of light over darkness, as well as justice and goodness, andhe is the Angel of Protection. I think this because Bob had a whole development in the Molecule Man arc where he kind of learns one aspect of the demiurge power, which is controlling creation, as Bob does when he restores his body from literal nothing and also manages to create beings, like he created a mini werewolf. Despite the terrible portrayal of mental illness and mental health, Sentry always seemed to want to do good, constantly asking "Did I do the right thing?", "Did I perform a good deed?". Furthermore, Bob rebuilt himself from an existential erasure by a great, bright light that covered the skies

It's important to remember that Archangel Michael and Samael are brothers who occupy literally opposite positions. One represents mercy and kindness, and the other represents destruction and sin. This is one of the reasons why Samael is also associated with Lucifer, but this depends on the perspective of the scriptures. I think it's cool that even the titles of Sentry and Void match each entity. "The Golden Guardian of Good" and "The Creature of the Blackest Night"

I prefer to believe this so that how Bendis used Bob will turn less detestable

I think it's really cool that a page like this uses Bob to post about Mental Health Awareness Month (May) and gain so many likes

Its awesome how the general public has linked Bob to mental health, no longer as a variation of Superman who is crazy. I really like that people are now seeing Bob as a way to address mental health issues. Good to see him and his stories becoming this concept. "The character with the stories that address mental health issues.". I think all of this is very productive and healthy for the character. He is gaining real value in his existence beyond selling his products and content, its a really cool thing : )

Besides mental health being something really important and fundamental in the lives of ALL individuals. Because, as its concept states: "Mental health refers to everything related to our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Encompassing all conditions that affect mood, thought, and behavior." So in a way he also adds to people's lives with his reading. Whether by addressing everyday stress situations, anxiety, existential crises, mental confusion, relationships, shyness, fear of something, etc. It's really a very wise and diverse subject, which doesn't just talk about having depression. I think all this makes his stories and the character richer and gives real meaning and purpose, in addition to answering the question "why should he exist and why should we follow his stories?"
I am very happy with the love he is receiving and WHY he is receiving this love.

u/podyonkers, congratulations on your hard work in creating the character. He's going very far, and his tree is bearing much fruit. I can't think of a better path for the character to follow; what a bright future!
