I need the best restaurant (high-ish end or something random kitsch) that has a resplendent or... Noteworthy? Carrot cake dessert... Anything?

Or... Nominees for epic dinner experiences for birthdays? I go out often, but am finding, even if you relate momentous life events in the reservations, restaurants kinda aren't concerned. Anyone have other experiences?
