Everything Wrong with The Last House (Netflix) - Spoilers
-Doesn't know their genre. It switches from horror to campy family feels.
-Bad acting. Cringey Lines. Plot holes all over
-"If you can make it in there, I can make it out of here" Says the boy to the fish after he can't go out the house for 1 day. Made me laugh out loud
-All message they want the movie to convey they just slap you with it. If there's a problem it literally gets addressed after a few minutes. Family problems? Shout at a fish and then all made up. Really hilarious
-Door, windows, broken walls, floors. Basically the whole ground is enclosed by a strange barrier.... But the chimney tho?? Prolly because Santa goes there. Octopus creatures respects Santa it seems
-Annoying kids
-Very shallow personality on all characters. Father: Thinks he should curry the burden. Mother: Basically a support character for the father without any real depth. Kids: One is a rebel, one is the immature kid. And that's it. Nothing more everything less
-Why the creatures take 5 years to go inside the house?
-What is with all the water control shenanigans then by the end it just floods the house? Why
-Spent 2hrs still wondering why lock them inside houses. They are perfectly capable of killing anyone
-Why not flood the house from the very start while also locking them up.
-Message is kind of about humans not treating ocean life nicely then ends with them taking fishing poles then rode of on a boat. Real funny stuff
-Very on the nose with "Don't hurt them, we are the monsters" message that not only is it cringey it just doesn't make a lot of sense in this movie. Trapped and starved for 5 years. Neighbors dying left and right. I'm sure the creatures are beyond kind.
-Got burnt by a molotov, Shot by a harpoon gun, Got tangled up tightly by a rope, it almost turned into sashimi. But hey all good he spared him after all that. So the creature was like "thanks G, we peace out" and went home????? That's all it took? Idk man
-I want the Antibiotic they are having. If it works that fast I'm sure we can find the cure to cancer
-All emotional beats for the dogs death didn't pay off at all. Basically inserted that scene to pull heartstrings
-I'm convinced this movie is their test for AI written movies and how well it can perform so they can make a pipeline for the future. Not only does the plot not make any sense. It was just so weird how the genre of this movie is all over the place. Some dialogues feels forced and misplaced. The sub plots and conflicts are very shallow and some of them they don't even follow through. Whole ending feels to detached from the beginning premise. Started with water barrier and water control ends with a simple flooding and physical confrontation. Feels like fighting a waterbender that refuses to use some powers and just keeps waterboarding you.
-Film is bad and I lost braincells
