Sublease Available for Studio in Lakeview East Starting 8/1/2026
The unit is a large studio apartment (~400 sq.ft) located in Lakeview East less than a half a block from Lake Shore Drive. I am looking for someone to take over the remainder of my lease (8/1/2026 -9/30/2026) and re-sign for the unit since I am moving out of state in August. You could either: (1) sublease for 8/1/2026 - 9/30/2026 and then sign a 12-month lease for 10/1/2026 - 9/30/2027, or (2) take over the unit for 8/1/2026 - 7/31/2027. The rent for August and September would be $1495 and then goes up to $1595 for the re-sign rate.
Rent includes all utilities except wifi and electricity (usually about $35 a month). I don't have parking, but there is parking under the building available for $75/month I believe, and the building is pet-friendly! I am right next to Belmont Harbour so great location near the lake and super close to the LSD buses and a 10-minute walk to the Belmont train stop. The landlord lives on-site, so that has been a big plus as he delivers packages directly to doors, lets me in when I lock myself out, and even has let me park my car underneath the building for a couple of days for free if I need to bring my car up for work. I am located on the backside of the building, so the unit is extremely private, and Melrose is a quiet street that is right by the main restaurants/bars on Broadway Avenue.
