Constipation + slow responder?
I’ve been on ozempic since August 2025, working up to 1 mg per week. I’ve lost 30 pounds but am still heavier than my previously normal weight. And I’ve been plateaued for months now.
In some ways this feels validating because people never believe someone who says they’re trying everything to lose weight but can’t - but truly, I was eating right, counting calories, not starving myself, not overeating, exercising, getting steps, etc etc and still gaining. But in other ways it’s super frustrating since I see so many people with very significant results and I’m over here taking ozempic, going to the gym 3-4x a week, still watching my diet, getting so much protein, etc with SUCH slow progress. My dr has just upped my dose to 1.5 and I will do it but also really want the lowest effective dose, both for cost and for side effects. Anyone else a slow responder and what ultimately helped? I tried split dosing (twice a week) with no change. I don’t know what else to do.
And constipation. I’ve always leaned toward constipation.m but ozempic makes it worse. I’ve read the other threads but I already:
- take restoralax (miralax) everyday
- take fibre4 everyday
- take magnesium glycinate in the morning and magnesium citrate at night
- have a bidet
- get protein and make sure I’m active
- drink water
- use psyllium husk capsules
And this doesn’t do anything. My dr said increase the restoralax to twice a day and use senokot intermittently and I’ll try that but any other suggestions? I can’t help wondering if my slow motility is contributing to my slow response.
I should mention I’ve had my physical and get regular bloodwork and as far as all that goes, I don’t have any underlying conditions that could explain this.
I’m a woman in my forties if that helps.
Just really looking to poop regularly lol and maximize the effectiveness of this drug, and feel a little dejected that it’s taking so much effort to see such slow result.
