Hi reddit! I'm heading on a 17 day balkan road trip around Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia. We want to get up into the mountains and are deciding between going in Albania in theth or valbone, or going up to Rugova area in Kosovo. We like going more off the beaten path and will have a rental car (but no 4wd) and also might take our camping equipment. Suggestions on which we should choose?

Our general itinerary is:

Tirana (2 nights)

Mountains (Theth or rugova) (3 nights)

prizren (2-3 nights)

ohrid (2-3 nights)

Albanian beaches in the south (3 nights)

berat (2 nights)
