Winspace CEO: "We test everything" [Winspace Factory tour]

This was a super exciting project! 5 years ago, I never would’ve believed I'd be touring a Chinese carbon factory. Today, I'm taking you inside Xiamen, China, for the biggest and most expensive project I've done.

After visiting 3 Winspace factories, conducting hours of interviews with the CEO and employees, and spending over 50 hours editing, the Winspace Factory Tour is finally live.

The biggest eye-opener? How manual-labor intensive the process is.

Why you need to watch this:

  • Carbon frame manufacturing process from A-Z.
  • Hands-on demonstration of the QC processes.
  • Sneak peek into the photo studio.
  • I saw things I shouldn't see.
  • And much more!

A huge thanks to Steven Cai (CEO) and the entire Winspace team for opening their doors and making this project possible.

I'm at the Shanghai Bike Show 2026: Ask Me Anything

Hi all, I'm Petr from Cyclists Hub, and I'm currently at the Shanghai Bike Show, aka China Cycle. Today is the last day of the show. I already have a good idea of which products are coming to the road cycling market.

The biggest trends so far - raised handlebars, narrow head tubes, marginal aero gains, sub 1000g 50mm wheels.

You can ask me anything you are interested in about the show/products, or we can just chat about the silly concepts/ideas. 😊

You can also follow my coverage on my YouTube channel. It's very detailed!

I’m wrapping up Day 3 in Shanghai, and the energy has shifted from "affordable alternatives" to straight-up "engineering madness." We are seeing brands move past just mimicking Western designs and instead experimenting with some of the most aggressive integration I’ve ever seen.

The Highlights:

  • The "Fork-Bar" Revolution: We’ve officially reached peak integration. VOOK debuted a concept where the handlebars and fork are one single, continuous piece of carbon. It’s a mechanic's nightmare with zero adjustability, but the claimed stiffness-to-weight ratio is mental.
  • Pogačar's "Marginal Gains" Tech: I tracked down the Colnago Y1RS used by Team UAE. It features a Bikone bottom bracket shell with hidden notches to smooth out airflow—plus, he’s running a massive 56T carbon chainring.
  • The Sub-1kg Club is the New Standard: The race to the bottom (weight-wise) is over. Multiple brands are showcasing their sub-1000g 50mm deep wheelsets.
  • World Record Gearing? I spotted a 100T chainring at one booth. I'm not sure if it’s for a land-speed record attempt or just to prove they could do it, but it’s the biggest piece of machined aluminum I’ve ever seen on a bike.

One day left to go, watch the coverage below:

I'm wrapping up Day 2, and the theme is clear: Chinese brands are democratizing elite-tier aero tech. We’re seeing features usually reserved for $10k builds trickling down to much more affordable levels.

The Highlights:

  • The $2k "Superbike" Frame: A new frame from Elilee mimics the ultra-narrow head tube profile of bikes twice its price. It features a clever integrated seatpost solution that actually allows for height adjustments if you cut it too short.
  • Pressure to lower the weight: Elilee's spider power meter weighs only 59g. Pair that with the 1.7g carbon spokes I saw, and sub-1kg wheelsets are becoming the new standard here.
  • The "Comfort-Aero" Trend: Almost every major brand (Winspace, Tavelo, Elite) is launching raised-stack handlebars.

Two days to go—let me know what you want to see next!

I just spent Day 1 at the Shanghai Bike Show, and if you think Eurobike is the center of the cycling universe, think again. The innovation coming out of the domestic Chinese brands right now is reaching a fever pitch.

Here’s a sneak peek at what I found:

  • Sub-900g Wheelsets: I held a 50mm carbon wheelset that feels like it’s made of air. The weight-to-depth ratios here are officially getting ridiculous.
  • The "Rocket Ship" Concept: Spotted a TT bike with a hole through the seat post and a head tube so narrow it looks like a blade. It’s radical, risky, and might just be the future.
  • 6.8kg Gravel Builds: One brand "cooked" a gravel bike that weighs less than most pro-level road bikes, complete with integrated storage and wind-tunnel-tested aero.
  • The "Carbon Bonded" Hub: New high-end hubs are moving toward bonded, one-piece structures for maximum stiffness.
  • Future Tech: Electric TT bikes and 3D-printed titanium components are no longer "boutique".

The gap between "Chinesium" and "Premium" has evaporated. This show is proof that the next big thing in your garage might not be coming from the Western brand.

Stay tuned—I’ve got 3 more days of hunting down the wildest tech in Shanghai.
