Have you had a long term care insurance claim denied? I'd love to buy you lunch and hear about it

Hi everyone, I'm a gerontologist who relocated to Marin about three months ago, and I have to say, I've never felt more welcomed anywhere in my life. I'm completely in love with this community already, and it's been such a gift to land here.

I'm currently helping a client work through a long term care insurance claim. It's a process that, as many of you probably know, can be confusing, slow, and emotionally heavy, even when things go well.

So far I've had the privilege of sitting down with 11 people in our community who successfully navigated their claims, and what they shared has been incredibly valuable. Now I'm hoping to learn from the other side of the experience. If your claim was denied, delayed, or you walked away frustrated with how it was handled, I'd really like to hear your story. Understanding what goes wrong, and why, is honestly just as important as understanding what works.

I'm asking for about 30 minutes of your time, and I'd love to do it over lunch or dinner on me, wherever feels comfortable for you. No sales pitch, no agenda beyond listening and learning. Anything you share would be kept confidential. If you're open to meeting, feel free to comment below or send me a DM and we'll find a time that works.

Thank you for considering it.

Where can I find a tennis pro @ Rio?

Hi All! I love Brazil and will be visiting again in a couple weeks. Where could I find a tennis pro to hire? I want to hit while there. I'll be staying at Copacabana near Posto 5.

Looking for a tennis hitting partner. Happy to Pay

Hi All! I am going to be at Rio again for the 12th time, I love RIO! I will arrive on June 15th and will stay for two weeks and would love to have someone to hit with. If you're a pro, or know a pro, I am happy to pay. I don't want a coach, just someone to give me a good workout. If you know someone, I'll be staying at Copacabana Posto 5.

Hey Marin I'm new here from NYC and I LOVE IT! Y'all have been so welcoming!

I am in the market for a 1991 Ford Explorer being sold by a private party and would love to find a mechanic willing to come with me to take a look before I commit. I want to know what I am getting into mechanically before I sign anything.

I am happy to pay for your time and will schedule the viewing completely around your availability. No pressure, no rush.

If you are a mechanic or know one personally who might be interested, please drop a comment or send me a DM. I would really appreciate a local recommendation from someone who has worked with them directly.

Thanks in advance. Please keep the comments relevant. I am not looking for opinions on the purchase itself, just a trusted set of eyes under the hood.

I am looking for someone to teach a 75 year old man how to use his new laptop. He is switching from Mac to PC and also is suffering from a bit of cognitive decline. I am a gerontologist here in Marin county (happy to be here) but do not have the time to sit with him. Ideally you could meet with him every morning or 3 times a week for an hour at a time. Excited to be here at Marin County! San Rafael.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. He has made the decision to switch from MAC to PC, there is nothing I can do to influence his decision as it has already been made. He now owns a PC. My goal is to get him support for a device he already owns. Again, I appreciate the feedback.
