A little haircare tip to help you find products that actually match your hair

So I'll preface this by saying that I have just recently started getting into properly taking care of my super long, 2B "wavy" hair. This is just a little tip for those of you looking to find out whether or not a product may or may not work for your hair.

You absolutely MUST test your hair's porosity before buying haircare products. To do this, you take a shed hair and drop it into room temperature water, and it sinks your hair is porous, if it floats its non-porous.

Once you know this, you can adjust your haircare routine accordingly. If your hair is non-porous, you must use "lightweight" or "weightless" products that use botanical extracts to moisturize your hair cuticle. If your hair is porous, you can use more hydrating products because those actually absorb into your hair's cuticle and don't just sit on top of your hair and weigh it down.

I'll be happy to answer any other questions or recommend products in comments!
