apple password support for thunderbird?

I have been using apple passwords / iCloud passwords for several months and I've been having some mixed results with it. the latest issue is trying to get apple passwords to work with Thunderbird. extension support and online advice is all specific to using an app-specific password for accessing your iCloud email account, which NOT my use case. I want to use my custom domain email accounts with their existing, no-need-to-be-app-specific imap account passwords, managed with "apple passwords". After a couple hours it seems like this is hands-down impossible? can that be?

Struggling for a use case for my 2010 Mac mini

I just don’t want to dump it .. it “works” but an attempt to get a more up to date 3rd party os has unfortunately triggered the loss of everything that was stored, installed, and worked. So right now it’s been “fixed” to a clean install of Ventura but has neither an installed base of apps nor any data that could benefit from an installed base of apps.

It has 2 TB Onboard storage, 8 g ram, and if I could get Ventura to perform at least as well as Catalina did, that right there would than sufficient… just extra storage for media/photos etc not requiring more frequent accessing from my htpc nas drives.

But my smb connectivity in Ventura is very questionable.

Is there an expanded use case for this mini such that further mind suck into fixing what wasn’t broken would be worthwhile?

Also… for this mini and/or for a future purchase… is there a monitor solution set that would not require a complete rewrite of my current working method? Ie, I have several aging laptops. I do not have any desktops. I purchased a small portable monitor for the resuscitation of the mini. If I want to continue having the/a mini adjacent to my lounge chair and then utilize my wall-mounted tv 25 feet away as the main monitor… is there a wireless hdmi solution that wouldn’t be too clugey? Or should I just not buy a new mini, mainly screen share to this legacy mini unless direct login is necessary for the scant 5% of admin stuff I do on it?

Intellectual property…

Does anybody here have an intellectual property concern they track, a problem that informs daily or occasional decision making, or a website discussing intellectual property issues you could point me to, coders or a definable group of functionally certified professionals with non coding functions?, and possibly a specific genai company or genai companies in general?

Does your company have an intellectual property policy that informs you on what to say or ask or how not to ask anything, or which category of document would by definition never live in a worktree or scratchpad, lied hard drive?

I am not a journalist, I’m not pursuing a concept of anything I want to write for delivery to anyone for any purpose. I simply need to inform myself sufficiently to make an intellectual property involved decision about how and where I would or would not pursue certain activities.

Replace Claude with a local instance like Odysseus?

I’ve been using ai to try to resuscitate my nas by recovering data from the read only drive before a clean install that will wipe everything.

Its been a hit or miss kind of scenario with me swapping ai options out when I get truthfully egregious command recommendations, a catastrophic data loss when a design principle is ignored, or when an ai goes off the rails and starts executing commands without approval despite settings.

So now I’m looking at trying to replicate my project without a pro subscription to Claude or Gemini and just go it alone.

I have ollamaand Odysseus installed on my MacBook Air m1 and ostensibly I should be able to avoid the spend on what I’m doing.

What I need to know, really, is if and’s how I can transfer the work I’ve done in my project (I have a project folder with reference documentation, rules to abide by, scripts etc) to the new local machine ai instance.

Can, for example, Odysseus be trained to look at the project folder ands learn what he needs to know about all the hardware involved? Or will every command require me to include pages of reference material?

Any help would be appreciated.
