What confused you most when researching medical cannabis in the UK?

We've been spending a lot of time researching the UK medical cannabis space recently and honestly it feels like a lot of people are interested in it, but struggle to find clear information.

There’s loads of discussion, but it can still be confusing trying to work out things like:

• who actually qualifies
• how prescriptions work
• the differences between clinics
• pricing and repeat prescription fees
• oils vs flower
• what the overall process is really like

It also feels like a lot of people either don’t know where to start, get overwhelmed by conflicting information, or just give up researching it altogether.

Genuinely curious what other people here found most confusing when looking into medical cannabis in the UK.

And if you decided not to pursue it, what put you off?

Do you think public perception of weed has actually changed that much in the UK?

Feels like cannabis culture is in a weird place right now.

On one hand it’s more accepted than ever:

  • legal medically in a lot of places
  • mainstream conversations
  • older generations becoming more open to it
  • less stigma overall

But at the same time, it still feels like a lot of people fall into two extremes:

  • “weed is dangerous and useless” or
  • “weed is a miracle plant that solves everything”

Reality’s probably somewhere in the middle.

There are definitely people who benefit from it.
There are definitely people who overdo it.
And there’s still a huge amount of misinformation everywhere depending on who you ask.

Curious where people here think public perception actually stands in 2026 compared to 10–15 years ago.
