Time for the obnoxious steering wheel shot…figured it was a good day to age-match. Took my ‘69 husband out in my ‘69 E-type wearing our ‘69 Constellations.

Happy Friday! What watch are you wearing this weekend?

I’m breaking away from my normal Omega with a new to me Parmigiana Fleurier! I really like it! Something different.

This completely custom-sized strap was a whopping $47 delivered from TkuWatchStrap on Etsy. The seller was so helpful making sure the size was correct. The strap shipped and arrived really quickly! It was exactly two weeks from placing the order to receiving it. I highly recommend the shop! My wrist is just over 6” and I think this vintage sized men’s watch is a nice fit.

Wearing my “new to me” mid century ultra flat white gold Omega. The denim strap I ordered for it came in, so this is the last hurrah on the black velvet finish strap it came with. The black strap is pretty crunchy, it might have been original. This is a great watch to repurpose as a ladies watch!

Last year, after a short period of frustration that so many of the men’s models of watches are more interesting and have better movements than the ladies, I bought three different vintage Omega men’s models that I liked and have changed the straps to something more feminine.

I’ll start with the tuxedo pie pan. My search for a pie pan is driven by my favorite watch ever which is the 18k Constellation 1957 pie pan deluxe that I bought for my son’s graduation. I adore that watch and it has the most beautiful lugs ever. (If anyone knows the correct name of them, I’d love to hear it) The problem is, those lugs overhang my 6.25 wrist. I have tried it on 100 times and it really wears large due to the lugs. So I set out to find the smallest pie pan constellation, the 168.025, cal 564, 34 mm, circa 1967. It has a unishell case that opens on the dial side, and is an automatic certified chronometer. Its lugs are the tiniest things ever. I was cruising e-bay and saw this all-original Tuxedo with black onyx indices for sale from Colombia. Bought it on the spot. It came with the most pristine vintage stretchy band I have ever seen. But, I didn’t want to look like I was wearing my grandfather’s watch so I ordered this dusty rose suede strap for it. The color is more subtle in person. I have a black stingray on order for it too.

I have worn this pretty much non-stop all week. I love vintage watches and like having some that are more modern in size than my tiny ladies versions. I think the smaller men’s watches are a great hunting ground for women!
