I have visited Pereira, a lovely Colombian city in the heart of the coffee region, twice: in 2000, for the adoption of my son Loris (who is therefore Franco-Colombian), and in 2011, for a family vacation to Bogotá, Pereira, Medellín (where our daughter Valentina was born in 2002), and Cartagena de Indias.

Today, I am saddened by the images of devastation and worried, as I have not heard from a few people I know in Pereira.
