Scared to get Nexplanon because of side effects
I’m 22 and I have really bad health anxiety and also ocd. I first tried birth control in March, it was Opill and the first month was great but I started bleeding every other week like a full period amount of blood for the rest of the 5 months I was on it. A couple months ago I stopped using it because of that and I also can’t afford it. I don’t have a job or insurance right now so I want to try to get a prescription bc for free if I can. I have had high blood pressure in the past so I don’t want to use a combination pill. I’m considering trying nexplanon but I’m terrified of side effects or something terrible happening. (I don’t have a primary doctor so I haven’t had a blood test in years.) I’ve read that even though it’s progestin only it can cause blood clots and strokes, and have even read posts here on Reddit of people saying it caused it for them. I’m aware the bleeding could happen again and be even worse but that’s not a huge concern of mine since I could get it removed, I’m just scared of really bad things happening and am wondering if it’s worth the risk?
