About 6 weeks ago, I made a post “looking for friends in an area.”

Among all the replies, there was one particularly cringe comment that should’ve probably been ignored.

Instead, I replied.

That comment belonged to a girl from Uttarakhand who grew up in Delhi. One conversation turned into another, then daily calls, inside jokes, late-night conversations, and somehow she became the person I looked forward to talking to every day.

Yesterday, we finally met for the first time.

The funny part? She was exactly the same person I had spent weeks talking to—effortless, genuine, and somehow even better in real life.

So here’s a reminder that sometimes a random Reddit post looking for friends can lead to something you never expected.
