Does Meryl know her nephew is a thief?
I’m rewatching all the seasons as one does; and as we know in the end Meryls pearls turned out to be in her purse. All of my other watches I had just assumed oh maybe shes just old and forgetful. Because we see Joel coming in often to get a birthday check every week because she thinks every time he visits it’s a new year.
But what if she isn’t really that forgetful? What if because she lives in a nursing home she’s lonely and don’t get visitors often. But Joel does come, he comes yes to steal from her but because she doesn’t get many visitors especially from family she allows it. And because she knows he is a thief thats why she put the pearls inside of her purse when he visited.
Of course we know that Meryl is happily living with her boyfriend now. And St. Bosco scared Joel straight, so she wont be taken advantage of anymore and won’t be lonely.
