need advice on how to tackle my health insurrer
I’m 30 years old, run a small business, and purchased a health insurance policy from Bajaj General Insurance around 5 years ago.
Last year, during renewal, I had an absolutely horrible experience with Bajaj. Even though I paid for the renewal around 20 October 2025, they took nearly 3 months to renew the policy, and I only received confirmation around 30 January 2026.
Now this month, I was rushed to the emergency room and diagnosed with a blocked artery (CAD). I underwent an angioplasty procedure where a stent was placed in the blocked artery.
While I was admitted, my family provided my Bajaj Health ID card to the hospital. However, when the hospital contacted Bajaj for approval, Bajaj replied by email saying that my policy had been blocked/cancelled. I was never informed about this cancellation/blocking — neither through a phone call nor by email.
After discharge, I was left with a hospital bill of around ₹3 lakhs.
Since then, I have repeatedly tried contacting Bajaj through email and their so-called 24x7 customer support, but I have received almost no response. I got only 1 call yesterday.
My agent, PolicyBazaar, informed me that they have filed a reimbursement claim on my behalf after collecting all required documents, but they have still not provided me with any claim ID. It has been more than 72 hours as of writing this post.
I have been continuously emailing Bajaj since 9 May 2026. Yesterday, someone from Bajaj finally called me, listened to my issue, and then disconnected the call saying he would email me instructions on how to file the claim. He did send an email, but the link he provided is not even working.
The link he sent:
https://www.bajajgeneral.com/claims/health-insurance/claim-process.html
I replied back to him with screenshots showing the error page from that link.
The Bajaj General Insurance Android app shows all my previous policies, but not my current active one. I have tried adding the policy multiple times, but the app keeps saying that the policy is already added.
Bajaj also has an AI chatbot. When I enter my policy number there, I am successfully able to download the PDF copy of my policy. However, when I try to check the policy status, the chatbot says “Policy not found.” Additionally, I also tried raising a claim through the chatbot, but it would not allow me to proceed.
Their “24x7 Customer Care” is basically just an IVR loop. No matter what options you select, it never connects you to a human representative. The IVR simply restarts and says it did not receive any input from me.
Bajaj also has a missed-call callback service where you give a missed call and supposedly receive a callback from their team. I have been requesting callbacks every single day since 9 May (except Sundays), and I have never actually received a callback.
Can someone please suggest what I should do regarding India’s #2 insurance provider?
This entire experience has caused me severe stress and frustration.
Also, everything mentioned here is backed by proof from my side. I have screen recordings of the app/chatbot issues, and the phone call I received from Bajaj was also recorded by me.
