Should I be concerned about seeing larvae on clothes months ago?
I saw some carpet beetle larvae on my clothes in the closet + one big carpet beetle near my window / books + holes in a shirt from my dresser 8ish months ago, when I was living in my college house. I knew what they were because they were ID’d by an insect scanner app. One of my clothes had huge torn holes in it + a LOT of small holes. I didn’t realize at the time how destructive they are and kind of figured maybe it’s a one time thing and maybe I killed the one responsible for it. Anyways, I moved back home 6 months ago and kind of packed all of my clothes in a container. I just peeked at the top which has a cashmere sweater, cashmere scarf, and silk blouse and they look fine, but I’m worried maybe they’re in one of the bottom layers… Should I be concerned? I’m having a cockroach issue too and I’m worried if I unpack the box will be compromised, but if I don’t unpack maybe there are carpet beetles… I feel super overwhelmed. Please, I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
