And now the easiest, but also hardest part: Waiting.

And now the easiest, but also hardest part: Waiting.

My first bookbinding project! Hard not to peek.

I have cover board on the table (I don't have any actual wood), then parchment paper, the book, more parchment, more board, then the bricks, with blotting paper (watercolor paper) within each of the endpapers. Looks okay?

How to protect the cover while putting the book under weight overnight?

Once the cover is on, I'm planning to close the book and put weight on it overnight. Do I place anything between the book and what I'm using to weigh it down to protect it, so the iron-on vinyl doesn't stick and lift? Parchment paper, wax paper? On one of the videos on the DAS channel, it looked like he was using one of those two.

He also said he was placing blotters between the endpapers. Just regular paper?

Best way to glue the case to the book block?

I'm on my last step, gluing the book block into the case. Very nervous. I'm looking for tips on the best way.

It was a perfectbound softcover, which I'm converting into hardcover. Squareback, with board in the spine.

Do I glue the spine first so I know it's centered, then the hinges, then the covers? Or a different order?

Any tips are appreciated!

Rocky's body language on the beach

The attention to detail is amaze! Just before he tells Grace that the scientists are ready to prep the Hail Mary to return to Earth, he scoops up/scuffs the sand. It reminds me of how we physically fiddle with something before saying something difficult. He doesn't want him to go.

Then he turns so it appears he's "looking" off into the distance and seems to droop a bit. When Grace asks if he can think about it, he quickly turns back and lifts his posture, happy that he might not leave. His encouragement to think about it long time was accompanied by a tiny but enthusiastic nodding.

Then he can relax and sit. So well done!
