Hello, I’m approaching my ACAS soon and am starting to question whether it’s worth going further to FCAS. I’m wondering what people are thinking the future for actuaries looks like. I’m someone who right now is very interested in chasing higher salaries. Will this profession still be lucrative in the future?
I just passed 5 and am now studying for 6. I’ve been told this is a less computation heavy exam and more memory based. That being said I have no clue as to the granularity of details I should be remembering. Should I be remembering the exact years laws enacted for example? Or should I stick to broader understanding? Any insight into the level of detail required would be extremely useful. Also any comments on the breadth of the syllabus coverage on the exam would be great as well.
