Advice from chemistry bg people. Please help!

Sorry I'm a yapper (about 2-3 min read)

This is my first post on reddit and idk how to go about it, but I've just finished (June 2026) my bachelor's in chemistry from amity mumbai and I already regret it as I could've done it for much cheaper instead ended up wasting about 4-5 lacs for this stupid degree.

you may ask why did I choose Amity in the first place? obviously I was blinded by their 100% placement propaganda. But I obviously did not get any placement instead lots of loneliness and mental health issues, but let's not talk about them for now.

Now..

My main question is regarding my career trajectory. I honestly don't remember why I chose chemistry, but now I have landed my first full time job in marketing. Pay is terrible but honestly, I don't hate my job, it's just it's not in my field and everyone's advising me to switch to a job in chemical field. I love meetings in luxury hotels, and I want this to be my lifestyle.

I know I'm going off topic but it's important for me to give you context. So... now I have taken a drop, obviously to be independent and preferably save some money just in case if I want to get a masters. Cuz jis nazar se my father looks at me, I don't think so he'll spend even a single penny.

So, as I said, I want to earn in lacs, or at least above average salary of 80k/month (i don't think so you can live a good life below that in mumbai) So, after researching I'm VERY CONFUSED if I should switch to marketing for the rest of 40 years of my life or if I should save some money and get a master's in analytical chem and push myself into Regulatory Affairs. I have heard they earn good long term.

Now I know nothing about regulatory affairs and why do they earn so much just for making documents. But entry level for this role is also like 15k or something, with insane competition and honestly my FOMO tells me that being a fresher at the age of 24-25 is just embarrassing (I turned 21 last month). But to switch to marketing full time, for a jump I might want to do an MBA in marketing since it's all about building brands and that's what I'm doing in my current job. But MBA... is a delusion for me, even after working 12hrs a day, I don't think so I can afford it, and I don't want a loan.

PLEASE.. PLEASE GUIDE MEE OR ATLEASE LIKE AND SHARE SO THAT IT REACHES PEOPLE.
