Schlage Keypad Deadbolt vs. Schlage Encode Plus: Is the smart lock worth it?
I’m deciding between a regular Schlage keypad deadbolt and the Schlage Encode Plus and would love to hear your experiences!
I really like the smart features of the Encode Plus, especially being able to remotely unlock the door if needed and check whether the door is locked when I’m away. I also plan to get an Apple HomePod, so I’m hoping the Thread connection might help with battery life.
My main concern is the battery life, which seems to be around 6 months or up to a year. I’m worried that having to replace batteries regularly or dealing with the lock dying at an inconvenient time could become a hassle.
For those who own the Encode Plus, how’s the battery life in real life? Is it actually a hassle, or is it not a big deal? And do you find the smart features useful enough to be worth it?
I’m torn between getting all the smart features I want and going with a regular keypad lock that’s simple and reliable. Would love to hear your honest experiences!
