Rayman Legends Retold pre-order choice

I just pre-ordered Rayman Legends Retold for the PS5 PHYSICALLY.

But even with that, I still feel conflicted in light of Sony's recent announcement about physical games. But at the same time, I want a better future for Rayman regardless.

I was thinking of getting it for the Switch 2 (or both consoles for that matter), but with the whole game key card thing about the license ending at any moment, I went for the PS5 version since I still play there along with the Switch 2, but it couldn't have come at a worse time.

As much as I'm firmly against Sony's decision, I still want Rayman to have the revival we've all been waiting for even if the gaming industry is at it's lowest point.

Rayman Legends Remake speculation and potential voice cast

As many are aware, a Rayman Legends remake is apparently in development by Ubisoft Montpellier (and possibly Milan). Now, a Legends remake may sound redundant since the game is already perfect, and games like Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc are more deserving of a remake. But with the rumours about the game being a 3D remake or even a reimagining, this opens the door to many possibilities of how the game will turn out.

But the biggest question one would ask is: What if the Rayman Legends remake turns out to be a 3D platformer with an actual story, character development, and different gameplay styles like 2 and 3? And as we all know, the Rayman community has been yearning for another Rayman game, let alone another 3D Rayman game. And given that the game is also being co-developed by the creators who made the Mario + Rabbids games, imagine if the game turns out to be a 3D platformer and that Rayman, Globox, the teensies, and Murfy have their personalities from 2 and 3 again, and that Barbara finally has her own personality and character development.

And speaking of character development, this brings me to my next point: a potential voice cast for the Rayman Legends remake. As we all know, all the characters in Rayman Legends were voiced by Douglas Rand, but only spoke gibberish or expressed themselves in grunts and groans. But if the game does have voice acting and dialogue like 2 and 3, what could the potential voice cast be? One thing I know for sure is that many would be happy to see David Gasman and Billy West reprise their roles as Rayman and Murfy, respectively (and maybe John Leguizamo and Matt Hill reprise their roles as Globox and the Grand Minimus, respectively). But as for Barbara, this will be the first game she has had a true voice actress. Personally, I would like to see Jennifer Hale voice Barbara, since she nailed her role as Numbuh 86 in Codename: Kids Next Door, and both Barbara and Numbuh 86 are similar (although Barbara is not as rude or bossy as Numbuh 86). Another good candidate would be Kaycie Chase, who voiced Rabbid Peach from Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope, since Rabbid Peach is portrayed as sassy, devious, and daring in a good way. And since Barbara somehow shares the same personality traits as Rabbid Peach, it would be fitting for Kaycie Chase to voice the barbarian princess. All of this can also be applied to the other dubs of the game.

Sorry if this post was lengthy and all over the place, but with all the buzz and rumors about the Rayman Legends remake happening, and with the possibilities of the game being teased at this year's Summer Games Fest or Ubisoft Forward, I just wanted to express my thoughts about how the game will turn out. What do you all think the Rayman Legends remake will be? Do you think it will be just another port/remaster of an already perfect game? Or do you think it will be a full-blown 3D remake or reimagining that will bring Rayman back to his 3D platforming glory like 2 and 3?

Pac-Man World Rally Remake idea or pitch

This idea of a Pac-Man World Rally remake is going to sound very ambitious, but if World Rally gets a remake, and if it's like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and Sonic Racing CrossWorlds with post-launch content and tournaments, Namco has the opportunity to truly unite the entire spectrum of the Pac-Man community.

  • The first idea is that they obviously need to bring back the original characters, game modes, vehicles, power-ups, and tracks (if only Ms. Pac-Man isn't in the situation she's in). Another thing Namco can do is introduce vehicle customizations just like how CTR N-F and SRCW do it. And let's obviously not forget about online multiplayer since it has a major presence in racing video games.

The next idea is a bit complicated (and controversial), so I'll divide it into 3 parts since this can fit in the post-launch content part of the game.

  • The first part of the idea is that despite being called Pac-Man World Rally, Namco has paid homage to their other IPs by including characters, vehicles, and tracks based on Galaga, Dig-Dug, Mappy, Katamari Damacy, and Pole Position. So, for a World Rally remake, Namco should add new characters and tracks based on their other IPs, like The Tower of Druaga, Rally-X, Toy-Pop, and others.

  • The second part of the idea is that Namco should also add new characters, vehicles, and tracks based on other Pac-Man media, such as the 1982 Hanna-Barbera cartoon. This may seem impossible since the show was produced through a different medium compared to the World games, but all Namco should do is redesign some of the main characters and the main villain (can't remember his name again) to fit in the Pac-Man World design style. The same can be said about the vehicles and tracks.

  • And here's the third part of the idea that will be very controversial, but let's give the fans of a specific era a w for once (yes, I'm going to be talking about that era). Namco should also bring back the Party and Ghostly Adventures characters, and add new tracks and vehicles based on those games. But to avoid the ire of the community over the mere mention or presence of these characters, Namco should not only redesign the Party and GA characters to fit in the Pac-Man World design style, but also reintroduce them with more fleshed-out personalities, as well as them being Pac-Man's many childhood friends (and foes). I mean, just take a look at the fan art of characters like Spiral, Cylindria, Betrayus, Skeebo, and even Sir C in the classic art style, or even the World design style. It shouldn't be that hard for Namco to redesign these characters. Also, I know the Pac-Man lore consists of yellow Pac-People, but what's wrong with having different colored Pac-People? If Pac-Man Battle Royale/Chompionship can have different colored Pac-People (even if they're just multiplayer arcade games), then why can't the general Pac-Man lore have that? And as for characters like Patra, Woofa, and Roger, their designs and personalities are perfect as they are, although they can use a few changes to fit in the World design style.

Sorry for this post being lengthy, but just imagine if Namco were to do a Pac-Man World Rally remake with the same levels of ambition like CTR-NF and SRCW. Just imagine the greatness (and memes for that matter) Namco can achieve for the entire spectrum of the Pac-Man community, just like how CTR-NF did for the majority of the Crash Bandicoot community.
