Achilles in Troy proves that perfect casting can elevate a movie.

Rewatching Troy and honestly, Brad Pitt might be one of the most perfect casting choices ever.

It wasn’t just the looks. The physique, the confidence, the movement, the energy he carried in every scene, he genuinely felt larger than life without trying too hard.

He had the mythical aura Achilles is supposed to have: beautiful, intimidating, charismatic, but still dangerous.

The blonde hair, the armor, the athletic build, the way he moved during fights, everything about the performance just fit the character perfectly.

What’s your favorite casting choice of all time?

Achilles arriving at Troy still feels legendary (2004)

I also think the music in the theatrical cut added so much to scenes like this. It gave the battles and Achilles himself a more mythological and larger than life feeling compared to the director’s cut.
