ASUS XG32UCWMG - My thoughts so far.

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick review of my new ASUS XG32UCWMG now that I’ve spent some quality time with it. I’m running this on a PC with an RTX 4090, connected via a high quality HDMI 2.1 cable to get the full 10 bit color and 240Hz refresh.

The Good:
First off, the picture quality is honestly breathtaking. If you haven't seen 4K on a 32 inch OLED yet, it’s a total game changer. The "True Black" marketing isn't just hype; the black levels are perfect. Coming from a traditional LED monitor, the contrast makes everything look 3D. Playing games like Death Stranding or Cyberpunk is a whole new experience. The neon and highlights pop against those pure black backgrounds in a way that’s hard to describe until you see it in person.

The Catch (ABL):
The only real "downside" I’ve run into is the ABL (Auto Brightness Limiter). It is a known OLED thing but worth mentioning because it can be pretty aggressive. If you’re in a game with a lot of bright scenes like snowy landscapes or a white UI, you can definitely see the monitor "toggling" the brightness to protect itself. I’ve managed to tame it by tweaking the brightness and using specific HDR profiles, but it’s definitely something you’ll notice if you’re coming from a standard bright LED display.

The Build:
The glossy finish on this specific model is the way to go. It makes the colors feel way more "raw" and punchy compared to matte coatings that usually dull things down. Plus, having that 240Hz ceiling and the 480Hz dual mode for when I’m feeling sweaty makes everything butter smooth.

Final Verdict:
If you have a 4090 and want to actually see what that card can do, this is the monitor. The perfect blacks and color depth are worth the occasional ABL dimming in my opinion. It’s easily the most beautiful screen I’ve ever owned.
Happy to answer any questions if people are on the fence about picking one up!
