PhD and struggling with Stat

I recently started a PhD program and need to take Stat and after failing horribly my family shared that there is a strong genetic component of dyslexia and dyscalculia in the family. I found out my mother, brother, uncle, aunt, grandparents struggling with this and no one had every said anything to me or had me tested when I was failing school and couldn't understand math. Now I feel stupid and struggling so much. Really don't know where to start or if I can learn well enough to pass or get services to help. Looking for feedback or suggestions.

Professional degree, student loans

I'm not sure if this is correct, but I saw that the new professional degree status to have ben changed for PhD to 50K but my school is telling me that I'm still only allowed 20,500K. Is this correct?

EDIT: got an answer from my school that because of the courts pausing, it won't go into effect.

Thank you!!!!

I wanted to say thank you to this community. I've planned my transition from social work into psychology for the last 4 years, volunteered the last 3 years in labs and getting really great feedback from this community. I applied to 12 programs, got 6 interviews and waitlisted in 4, accepted into 2.

I’m starting a PhD program this year that’s unfortunately a little over an hour away from my home and I have 2 kids. How are people handling emergencies or sickness? Can I excuse myself from class, so I need to get a babysitter? My husband also works about an hour away.
