Category is: melancholy in a bottle
I have been refining my collection and I recently managed to get a full bottle of Relique D'Amour. I have been gravitating towards perfumes that evoke liminal spaces, abandoned sites;
Serge Lutens - L'orphéline (limited edition); it has castoreum. It's more animalic yet still elegant. Makes me think of someone lonely yet untouchable.
Oriza L. Legrand - Relique d'amour : a strong chypre that opens with a very heavy terebinthe note that reminds me more of cedar than terebinthe. My husband, however, finds it very chemical. It evolves and changes as you wear it, going from cedar to Lillies with incense and wax. It's beautifully evocative. I like it a lot.
Alkemia - Night Sky Scattering Poems: a humid, summer night by the river at midnight. I really really like it. 40cad$+ for 5 ml makes me think about it. It's expensive but very beautiful and evocative. There's iron, petrichor, neroli, cyclamen, cement, musk and Moss.
Heretic - Nosferatu : I am seriously considering a full bottle for spring and fall. Surprisingly wearable, the dirt and petrichor blended with the violet, Iris and Lillies are very complementary and sweet. The labdanum gives it a dirty quality without being overwhelming.
What are some perfumes you think have a similar vibe?
