Helpful Grubs, or Birdfeed?

Hi all, Im not exactly into gardening unfortunately, I think I know just enough to be dangerous.... so I am appealing to you for help!

I have recently heard there are two different types of these bugs that look similar, but have widely different outcomes, and google isnt being particularly helpful for me to differentiate.

They were found in a large, self-contained pot that I wanted to try and plant some basil in. I went to pull out some weeds and prep the pot, but the whole top layer came back like a carpet revealing probably more than half a dozen. By the time I grabbed my camera and pulled the layer back again, these were all that were left that I could find from slightly disturbing the soil.

Do I leave them in the pot to do their own thing, do I need to make sure to keep them away from the lawn? do I offer them to someone with a compost? Do I put them out for the birds to snack on?

Thanks all!

American Accent feedback...

Hi there, I would love to have some feedback on my 'American' accent.

Now before you absolutely roast me, I know it is rubbish, this is the first time I am ever attempting it. I also am trying not to be a generalised one but actually not sure what location this one would come from (if at ALL or just a bad accent). I also am trying to go for an older (like, 1880s) and more enunciated style.

Truely, appologies that it might also seem a bit stillted or dragged out, I did this piece from memory.

Tbh, I am very embarrassed about this but i guess the only way to get better is to try, right? Please be gentle, i know i suck haha, but constructive feedback would be very good please!

EDIT: Yes, I am actually a native English speaker, sorry, probably should have included that!

Quick tips for American Accent

I am looking for some quick tips and tricks to start my journey into the American Accent, and yes, I will certainly be looking at the resources kindly linked in this subreddit.

For example the one (and only) tip I just received was to SLOW DOWN - as an Aussie, I have come to understand that we tend to have a more rapid speech pattern with a lot of run-on words?

If it helps, I have an Australian accent, with a bit of English inclination (a bit more annunciated than a typical Aussie beachbum), and I have basically zero natural talent when it comes to American Accents.

Im looking for probably just general American as the character I am aiming for is an "unspecified American accent from around the 1880's", but would like to be able to apply it into the future and expand my horizons of characters I can play.

I dont expect to become a natural sounding american in 2 weeks, but I wanted to see if people had some ways that they use to help strengthen their performances and stay in the accent.

For fun, are there other accents that suddenly clicked for you after a certain piece of advice?

Natural Fibre alternative to Nylon Shapewear

Hi, so I have the shorts bodysuit style shapewear from Kmart (the type which is shorts with straps, not covering the bust), which I have been living in for a few years now (I literally just jumped on their website to see what it was called, and I cant even find it!! Oh no!) and use as underwear. Some of the older ones are starting to fray a bit where I have caught them on my nail or something, and of course, they probably arent meant for the regular washing that underwear requires.

Basically, I would love to have a natural fiber alternative to this, as Id like to move towards fibers that are better for the body and the environment. Now, of course I understand that there might not be such a thing, as the point of shapewear is for it to stretch and compress, but I would love to see if anyone has any ideas!
