xcancel.comDetails from Qewbite, a Russian YouTuber, describing Avengers: Doomsday plot points.
Not that long ago, we got a Portuguese plot leak of Avengers: Doomsday that seemed to help clear up a few things that we previously did not know. (I would recommend that anyone reading this check that thread out - both I and another user have summarized key points from it, even though it appears that it is an earlier draft of the script than what was filmed.) Now, as of late, some promotional content from the recent trailer and poster have led me to look into some other sources that were previously talked about. Now, it seems that there's another international YouTuber whose work kinda flew under the radar whose words we need to consider.
I was curious when one very recent summary of what appears to be footage meant to be shown at SDCC mentioned a Russian Telegram account that leaked with an AI image of Gambit, Professor X, and Magneto, and another user (u/viibeShane) linked me to Qewbite, a Russian YouTuber who apparently has seen some of the leaked Telegram materials. He has three videos that are relevant - the entirety of this video, and some segments of two earlier roundup videos that he made here (segment starts at 2:21) and here (segment starts at 20:56). I have seen some leaked images (which I am not going to share because that's piracy, nor am I going to share the AI recreations of some images that have not directly leaked because I do not support AI slop on principle) that directly match with both the leaked shots and the poster that was just released showing Victor standing before a mural of his dead wife and child.
Let's summarize Qewbite's points that are relevant here (note that he has AI-upscaled screenshots of the leaked footage).
#Roundup Video 1
He talks about the Portuguese plot leak (which, again, I'd recommend you'd look through). He notes that there are things that he feels match up (mostly toward the beginning), but some elements in the middle and end do not seem to match what he's heard. (I personally believe that the Portuguese plot leak is based on an earlier draft of the script and not the movie that they actually made, since the plot leak indicates that Doctor Doom is not from the Fantastic Four's universe - something that they apparently considered, but did not stick to.)
He claims that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man will wear the Civil War version of the Iron Spider costume. (DanielRPK said that this is not the case, but he is wearing an upgraded version of his costume, which is why Tobey Maguire shot scenes during principal photography in mocap pajamas.)
He summarizes Alex Perez's Q&As on Avengers: Doomsday. (Alex also said that the whole "Doom is from another universe" thing was an idea that was considered and not used.)
He claims that Doctor Doom uses some kind of red-tinted magic in the film. (Chaos Magic? Another version of the Aether?) He also has a mockup image of Doctor Doom, one of his cultists (or a Doombot), and an artifact that Doom is looking at, plus a close-up on said artifact. He also has an image of Doctor Doom sitting by himself in his throne room.
He accurately describes details from the Thor VS Doctor Doom confrontation that we've now seen in the trailer, including the visual parallels to Thor's "rematch" with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Doom apparently knocks Thor our with a punch after blocking Stormbreaker to sell how much of a threat he is.
#Roundup Video 2
He summarizes details from the Shanghai expo and SDCC plans.
He covers DanielRPK's summary of what they're doing with the costume (IE: not the Iron Spider look).
He notes that his AI recreation of Doctor Doom's throne matches the design seen in the Shanghai exhibit.
He seems to be confused about Earth-828's role in the story, but seems to be under the impression that it gets destroyed before the Fantastic Four go to the MCU. That's not the case.
He backs MyTimeToShineHello's claim that Owen Wilson's Mobius will return with an important task - looking at a hole in a wall at the TVA.
#Trailer Breakdown
He points out that the poster's copy of the mural matches the one he's showcased.
He claims that the story is based on Avengers/New Avengers: Time Runs Out and Avengers: Secret Wars.
He believes that an envoy of Doctor Doom accompanies the Avengers to the X-Men's universe. (I disagree and I think this is another costume for Doctor Doom - see the next section for details.)
He implies that Steve has been edited out of some shots and also briefly talks about the Steve and Yelena interaction that's mentioned in the SDCC story roundup.
In addition, I can also add some additional context to what we're seeing based on some leaked images and Qewbite's AI slop mockups of images that exist but haven't directly leaked:
#Additional Details
Some shots that were outright in the trailer leaked in earlier states with incomplete VFX and compositing, such as the shot with Thor landing in front of a statue and the shot of him drawing Stormbreaker as he walks toward Doctor Doom. These shots are "day for night" scenes that they darkened in the trailer, and suffice it to say, the shots we saw in the trailer likely won't be the finished versions of these shots either. (Nearly identical mock-ups of Doctor Doom effortlessly blocking Stormbreaker and Thor meeting Steve on the Excelsior that match the ones seen in the trailer are also included in these leaks.)
Concept art indicates that Doctor Doom initially has a different costume and mask at one point - he has an outfit that has a mask that more closely resembles King Baldwin from Kingdom of Heaven than his iconic "battle mask", alongside a cape that only has one clasp on it as opposed to two; this costume somewhat resembles the 2005 Fantastic Four Doctor Doom, but it's a new take. He doesn't put on his more iconic look until he's ready to turn heel and go full-blown supervillain. The concept art showing this look features Victor standing behind Reed, Yelena, Sam, and Shang-Chi as they operate a cockpit together. (The scene depicted seems to be from the end of the first act or the start of the second act, before they jump into the X-Men universe.)
The poster we saw of Doctor Doom standing in front of a mural is indeed part of Castle Doom, and it depicts his dead wife and child (not Victor's mother and a younger Victor, like some have speculated). The leaked SDCC sizzle reel description that ends with Doom telling someone "One day, you will forgive me." begins with him looking at this mural.
An AI slop recreation of an unrevealed leaked image apparently showcases Magneto (with one of his arms in a sling), Professor X, and Gambit all sitting together in what appears to be the Baxter Building. Mjolnir is positioned in front of Gambit in the recreation. There's another AI slop image of Thor that looks a lot like it's meant to be from his fight with Doctor Doom, but it doesn't tell us anything.
There is concept art indicating that Magneto is part of the assault on Castle Doom, based on the floor patterns matching ones we saw of the set recreations in the recent Shanghai exhibit. Other concept art showcases Doctor Doom awakening the Sentinels with his magic (which matches the scene that leaked), concept art for what the Incursions look like from space, and concept art of what the Incursions look like from the X-Mansion on Earth-10005.
And that's all for now.
