My pool guy says he wants to upsize the pipes. Is he trying to rip me off?

My pool guy keeps telling my wife her current pipe is way too small and that he could pipe it way better if she wanted. Said an extra inch would make a huge difference. Something about totally dynamic head. Could any of the experts here tell me if this is worth doing?

He even offered to do the work while I'm out of town on a business trip so my morning water testing routine won't be interrupted. Don't worry, I'll be bringing my TF-PRO 100 test kit I bought from troublefreetestkits.com to the hotel pool to make sure they're maintaining a proper FC to CYA ratio and balancing to the CSI using the Pool Math app. I'm running low on DPD powder but I'll see if the concierge can find a pool store nearby (hopefully not Leslie's ugggh). Don't worry, I won't be buying anything else from them.

Also, any TFP guys in northeast Arkansas next month and wanna hang? We could test your pool water or maybe good cop/bad cop a teenager at the local Pinch-a-Penny.
