The Tower ending is by far the "best", most well developed ending, but...

Anyone who defends it as a "good" ending has gotta be out of their goddamned mind.

You pretty much kill Johnny, you abandon every other friend you meet and even get to see the consequences of doing so.

- Viktor gives up and sells out to Zetatech;

- Misty gives up and abandons the spiritually festering city;

-Takemura (if saved) will be forever hunted as Hanako's murderer;

- Panam can't forgive that you ghost her;

- River sells out for his nephew and becomes a criminal;

- Judy moves on with her life and gets married to someone else;

And end up as a cripple unable to use anything but the most basic of chrome, a nobody who will probably die with regrets and forgotten by everyone meaningful.

It's borderline misery porn.
