I feel alive again

I have recently decided to tackle unfinished business in building with Java. Now I am relearning Java - which includes unlearning the old ways of doing things and writing the shortest possible code. In all of this I have been writing code by hand without AI generated code. Although I ask Claude for syntax clarifications and benefits and downsides of using certain methods…

Writing code by hand again gives me the right level of satisfaction after several weeks of AI-dependent development at work. Not only have I rediscovered my passion at home, but I am also working towards evolving my mental model beyond the JS/TS (I am a frontend developer at heart) ecosystem.

I believe programming and development as a hobby - like it used to be pre-industrial-scale-AI-adoption - is one of the few ways we could protect our sanity and continually exercise muscle memory. In the end I would like this to lead me to doing backend web dev in Java as well. Let’s see.

Day 24

Day 24 Post-Heva. I’ve reached that patchy spot stage due to obvious shock loss. It is itchy at this stage as well. Did anyone else experience that?

I am a bit surprised that only scissors are recommended for haircuts until about 6+ months. I may just wear a make-do beanie hat for a while.

Day 1 after transplant

The Big H did it. To be honest, it was good value for money. I will follow the post-procedural instructions and I guess all will be well.

Will post more updates as time goes by. It was encouraging to see many people coming all the way from the States.

Booked that flight. Let’s go!

Based on feedback I got from members of this sub, I booked the next thing smoking to Istanbul.

Apparently, options are not aplenty, thus I have decided to go with Heva. Hopefully this is successful. It’s always been my dream to recover my hairline for a few years now - I am going to invest on myself this year. Leggo!

Late last year, I discovered Turkiye’s endless plastic surgery possibilities. I’m 36 and would like to know your thoughts. Is my hairline averagely healthy or am I cooked?

My potential donor area grows higher than the front. If I we’re potentially cooked, would you recommend Heva? I’ve read through the reviews here and it seems they are great with Black Hair.

I haven’t found any decent doctor for our hair type in Mainland Europe - the only I could find was Doctor Bisanga in Belgium - even at that I have the impression that his clinic is fully booked.
