I want to weigh in on my experience : Club Med Charlevoix, Qc had a sale. We thought we could bring our pet as the advert indicated we could and pets would be welcomed.
Here is the lowdown on this aspect of "pets welcomed" experience.

1. even if you book and indicate you are bringing a pet; you need to make an additional call to VERIFY if the allocated-pet- rooms are available. [ For
   Us we were told/ informed
   There were none!]
2. there are so many signs ( ironic? ) dogs not allowed on the grass; terrace areas
   Etc so were is the whole " bring your pet! They are welcomed! We welcome your furry family member" - my question is where? Are they to just stay in the room? * are they even allowed to stay in the room alone? What if they bark because its a strange environment?
