If I take J26 NY UBE and I pass (hopefully), does that mean my UBE score will be allowed to transfer to CA once the NextGen is administered in J28? Or does that mean I have to take the NextGen? I’m not understanding what happens to UBE scores for transfer purposes at that point. Can someone please clarify?

I ultimately want to move back to California next year and practice law. I’ve taken the UBE 3 times (July 2024 score: 220- July 2025 score: 252- Feb 2026: 254).
I’ve signed up for the July 2026 NY UBE and I have Uworld, Kaplan (full course), Barbri (free retake), Smartbarprep Sheets, and critical pass flashcards.
My question is: Should I take the NY UBE this July and wait to see what CA bar examiners will adopt regarding the Nextgen UBE? Or should I give up the UBE and sign up for CA bar exam for this July?
Please be kind, I know the CA bar exam is much harder, but I graduated from a CA law school and my home is California. Some advice and kindness would help.
