How Are People Actually Getting Into Top Companies/MNCs?

I genuinely want to ask people working in big companies/MNCs something.

How did you actually get in?

Whenever I hear someone say they joined companies like Urban Company, Amazon, Myntra, Nykaa, American Express, JPMorgan, KPMG, etc., I always wonder what they did differently because I’ve been trying so hard to get into good companies too, but I’m not even able to land interviews.

The confusing part is, I honestly feel my resume and experience are decent enough. I’ve worked hard, built my skills, and I keep applying consistently, but it feels like my applications just disappear into a void.

At this point, I’m starting to wonder:
- Is it mostly referrals?
- Networking?
- Resume strategy?
- Portfolio?
- Luck?
- Recruiter reach-outs?
- Timing?

And the thing with referrals is, a lot of people say “yeah sure, I’ll refer you” and then forget about it later. So it becomes really difficult to figure out what actually works.

I’d genuinely love advice from people who’ve successfully gotten into good companies:
- What helped you the most?
- What mistakes should I avoid?
- What made recruiters finally notice you?
- Is there something candidates usually overlook?

Would really appreciate honest guidance from people who’ve been through this process.
