As someone who recovered, I never realized how bad some people have it.

I’ve been an emetophobe for awhile. I’ve done therapy and meditation all types of exposure. I’ve managed to get to a point where I can calm myself down and accept it and be present in my life. The fear always lingers and still does affect certain things I do but no as much anymore. I still wonder if I will throw up today and if that stomach movement was a sickness but I’ve made great progress.

But anyway, being on this sub made me realize how much worse others have it and that some just can’t overcome this fear. I see people on here so scared they can’t talk to their partner for the next week, or believe they have some virus even though they haven’t thrown up. It’s insane how much this fear can take over your life and make you lose perspective. Hell, it sure has affected me and I believe I won’t be fully healed unless I vomit 😅
