Garden gold

We struck rhododendron gold with our “new” house. There’s at least five well established rhodies, each a different color, and at least five varieties of azaleas (again, all various colors).

My favorite discovery is learning that there are YELLOW rhododendrons!

I just found this subreddit and thought I’d share the joy 🤩

Legacy Azaleas

Our house came with a wonderful variety of azaleas and rhododendrons. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them are older than me!

I know now’s the time to prune, but they’ve got such sparse leaves I’m afraid to cut them back at all. I’m used to seeing full hedges of azaleas, but these are all pretty skinny. What would you do?

First two pics are the same plant I’m most unsure about, third pic is to share an amazing COLOR 😍

Think it can come back?

This bay plant came with the house, and while it seemed to have survived one summer of neglect last year, it’s not looking too good. But I like the idea of having bay leaves for cooking. Think it will revive if I put some effort in, or is it just toast?

Plant ID: I’m stumped

What is this plant? Google lens gave me four possibilities, chat GPT gave me another two 🙄

Former homeowner was an avid gardener, most are native to the PNW. Everything here seems to be intentionally planted. I was planning to cut a lot of it back because I don’t love it, but one of the possibilities was milkweed and if it’s there for monarch butterflies, heaven forbid I get rid of it! Do monarchs come this way? I don’t know.
