Questions about MIT
Hello!
I just finished my first year as a robotics engineer major at Michigan Tech. Recently, I visited MIT's campus and thought it was pretty cool. I'm trying to gauge whether I should apply or not, and I'm hoping to get some input. Here are some questions I have:
What are you favorite things about going to school here? Least favorite things?
What undergrad degree lines up best with robotics engineering (or designing, building, and programming control systems)? MechE and EECS seem the most similar, but it's hard to tell which would be easier to have a concentration in/focuses more on robotics.
How hands on are classes, and what opportunities are there to work on projects outside of classes?
What is music on campus like - are there lots of opportunities for students to make music in groups? How big of a time commitment are these groups? How many audition or casual groups are there? And are there practice rooms or pianos available to non-music major students?
If any of you transferred from another school, what has that process looked like?
Any other thoughts or words of wisdom are more than welcome :)
