Any advice for taking Valdoxan (As a minor)?

hi all! (i hope im posting this right im not that well versed in reddit)

recently i've been prescribed by my gp to try valdoxan/agomelatine.

For context, I'm currently 16 turning 17 this year but I've been on antidepressants since I was 14 to treat my depression. I've been on prozac, zoloft and luxapro for about half a year each (give or take) with dose adjustments, but i decided to stop all of them because the side effects were too much and the meds were leaving me worse off.

Agomelatine is an atypical antidepressant here in Australia (and also crazy expensive) so i'm a bit apprehensive about getting it. there wasn't much that i could find with how it is with teens like myself, so i'm kind of worried if it'll even be worth trying. But at the same time it feels like my only option right now since Australia doesn't really have many antidepressants recommended for under 18s (apparently).

(Side note: i would prefer to see a psychiatrist for medication rather than just my gp but im kinda doing this independently so i'd be paying out of pocket fees that i can't keep up with, or be stuck waiting half a year without anything. 🥲)

so if anyone has any advice or even experiences themselves trying it as a minor, please help me out here. thank you!
