Metsies
What a terrible representation of the current state of the Mets and the weekend they had. They lost 12 games in a row and were 11 games under .500. I get it. But that was 2.5 weeks ago. Mets had a 5-1 homestand, to make them 10-5 in May (now 11-5) and the Tyrone Taylor HR was the best subway series moment in recent memory. Maybe the subway series means nothing on a national scale that's fair. But it's definitely a huge deal in NY. Especially when you consider names like Clay Holmes, Juan Soto, Luke Weaver, and Devin Williams being big headlines this weekend. And Yankee replacement relievers blowing both games.
Mets currently playing their best ball of the season, and you went with
- Subway Series nobody cares
- Holmes out who cares they won the next 2
- Bo is dead maybe they can pay his contract for prospects
- Trade Freddy Peralta they're mathematically out (6.5 back of WC)
- Wasting Soto (1 year and 2 months into a 15 year deal)
No mention of
- Benge .892 OPS in May and leading off
- AJ Ewing .467 OBP .989 OPS
- Tong, Wenninger, Thornton - 3 AAA SPs close to big league ready joining Christian Scott
- Top 5 minor league system being tapped into
What a shame. If you're not watching the games just say that. No point in diving into their team if you don't know what's going on. They have a really good pitching staff, pen included. Nolan and Freddy can carry a rotation. Scott Thornton Wenninger Tong are all going to make starts. They're 3 games back of the Phillies and you're talking about the 2 teams like they're on different planets. Phillies are fully healthy right now, Mets are gonna get Lindor Polanco Robert back. Along with adding AAA pieces that the Phillies simply don't have as depth. Your whole rant would have made sense on April 30th. But Mets literally just had their 1st series sweep since Aug 2025, followed by their best individual win and best series win of the season (snapped a streak going back to postseason Alonso HR off Devin). Totally tone deaf reaction, and huge missed opportunity to shit on the Yanks and their bullpen. Have Clem on after they sweep the Nats......
June 2nd, 2024 they were 24-35, finished with a 89 win season and a trip to the NLCS. They're far from dead, and currently red hot. LGM
