Yellowing Juniper, normal or dead?
TLDR: My juniper is yellowing and becomingl brittle. I’m worried about watering and how to not kill this plant.
Hi, I was gifted this juniper (pic 1)in December last year. I live in Boston so kept it inside for a week or two before placing against house in a box with leaves protecting pot (pic 2). Got snowed on and didn’t water bc ik the snow insulates and waters the plant. (Pic3) once temps stayed above freezing removed from box and brought to front of house where it’s in direct sunlight most of the day.
I started noticing yellowing of leaves and some became very dry and brittle, breaking off at the touch at certain points. Noticed this around early April late March? (Pic4-5)
It seems to be happening to more of the plant (pic 6) and I’m not sure if this is OVEReatering or UNDERwatering.
I generally let it dry out before giving it a good watering and letting plenty water run through the base. I don’t water after it’s rained or stayed moist until I notice it drying out
Would love to keep this alive and I know it’s hard to determine just from these pics. Any advice is appreciated
