Great Instructors; not so great advisors!

I began with Purdue this past year. I had a difficult time with communicating with my advisor while getting enrolled. It was mostly frustrating and a lot of chasing around and her being dishonest about trying to reach me and leaving me voicemails my phone somehow just never got... I have enjoyed my classes and have faith in my instructors. I recently suggested a co-worker of mine consider Purdue. She had the same experience with advising while trying to get enrollment information, and said she might just go to a different school due to frustration. It is so unfortunate because, once you start attending, it really is a great school. How can the enrollment process be the worst part of the process when it is so important? It is the first impression of the institution and the enrollment staff are the face of the organization! Students can help with word of mouth referrals, but Purdue---you have to do your part, as well. Get it together.
