Most people visit Jim Corbett National Park hoping to spot a tiger, but after spending a few days there, I realized the experience is much bigger than that.

The early morning safaris through dense sal forests, mist-covered grasslands, and river crossings are unforgettable. Every turn brings something different—elephants quietly moving through the trees, herds of spotted deer grazing, peacocks displaying their feathers, crocodiles basking along the riverbanks, and hundreds of bird species filling the forest with their calls.

One of my favorite experiences was the Core Zone Jeep Safari. Even though wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, simply being inside one of India's oldest national parks is exciting in itself.

Apart from the safari, I also explored Garjiya Devi Temple, Corbett Falls, the Jim Corbett Museum, and took a jungle drive towards Pathkot Village. It gave me a chance to see a different side of Corbett beyond the safari gates.

A few tips for anyone planning a trip:

• Book your safari well in advance, especially during weekends and holidays.
• Early morning safaris usually offer the best wildlife activity.
• Carry binoculars if you're interested in birds and photography.
• Don't make the trip all about tigers—the forests, landscapes, and overall atmosphere are worth experiencing on their own.

If you're looking for a Himalayan trek that combines glaciers, spirituality, and high-altitude mountain views, the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek should definitely be on your list.

The trek starts from Gangotri and follows the Bhagirathi River through beautiful pine and birch forests before reaching Bhojbasa. The next day takes you to Gaumukh, the snout of the Gangotri Glacier and the sacred source of the Ganga.

From there, the climb to Tapovan becomes much steeper and involves crossing sections of the glacier, but the effort is absolutely worth it. Tapovan is an incredible alpine meadow surrounded by some of the most iconic Himalayan peaks, including Shivling, Bhagirathi I, II & III, Meru, and Sudarshan. Waking up to sunrise with Shivling glowing in golden light is something I'll never forget.

A few things I learned from the trek:

Acclimatization is very important since Tapovan is over 4,400 meters.

Weather can change quickly, even during the trekking season.

Good trekking shoes and layered clothing make a huge difference.

Carry reusable water bottles and avoid leaving any waste behind. It's a fragile ecosystem.

The trail isn't technically difficult for experienced trekkers, but the altitude and the glacier section demand good fitness and careful planning.

While most travelers head towards Manali, Shimla, or Nainital, there's a small Himalayan town in Uttarakhand that completely stole my heart—Munsiyari.

Perched at around 7,200 ft, Munsiyari feels like a place where time slows down. The moment you arrive, you're greeted by the massive Panchachuli peaks standing proudly against the sky. At sunrise, the snow-covered mountains turn shades of gold and orange, creating a view that's difficult to put into words.

What I loved most was how untouched everything felt. Dense forests, quiet villages, winding mountain roads, alpine meadows, waterfalls, and endless Himalayan vistas. Unlike many popular hill stations, there are no crowds, no traffic jams, and no rush.

The evenings were magical. Watching clouds drift across the Panchachuli range with a cup of tea in hand was honestly better than any luxury experience I've had elsewhere.

For adventure lovers, Munsiyari is also the gateway to some incredible Himalayan treks, including Khaliya Top, Birthi Falls, Milam Glacier, Ralam Glacier, and Namik Glacier. Even if you're not a trekker, the landscapes alone make the journey worthwhile.

What surprised me most was how few people know about this place. It has everything you'd want from a Himalayan escape—snow peaks, peaceful villages, local culture, incredible scenery, and genuine mountain hospitality.

If you're looking for a destination that's still raw, authentic, and breathtakingly beautiful, put Munsiyari on your list.
