People who transitioned to peds psych via peds portal program, do you feel comfortable with your psych training

Exactly what the title says.

Do you feel like the training you received was adequate to transition into a full CAP comfortably? Do you second guess your dosages or clinical acumen?

Please let me know.

Step 3 Write Up

non US IMG

Step 2: 255 (took 4 months prior to step 3)

Step 3: 231

Step 3 prep summary

Did UW 95 percent (made notes but only partially looked over them: paid attention to ethics + biostats from step 3 in particular as well as screening algorithms

My brain could not adhere the excessive UW step 3 content so just decided to focus on the major things: cvs, GI, ESPECIALLY biostats, ethics, screening algo, poisoning (there's this table on UW with all herbal medications patients take and their side effects eg gingko causes bleeding, st John's wort causes serotonin syndrome - you MUST cram it)

Ccs cases

Started CCS cases 20 days before exam - did around 10-14 cases per day. They were like a fun game. There's this mnemonic for the lab tests on YouTube - you MUST memorize it and just add all of them at once to save time and get easy marks(LUNCH MEAT C4):

LACTATE

URINALUSIS

CRP

BETA HCG

ESR

ABG

TSH

TROPONIN

ECG

CREATINE KINASE

CMP

CBC

C REACTIVE PROTEIN

also CTRL C+ CTRL V is going to be YOUR BEST FRIEND

I did HY top 120. Made a docs sheet with all my mistakes to revise before the exam (eg I'd forget beta HCG in women, would forget ECG and TROPONIN in chest pain w strong suspicion of gerd, would order invasive testing for v obvious IBS)

14 days before exam

Revised my step 2 notes on cvs, git, uro, female repro, PREGNANCY ALGORITHMS, Neuro, pulmo (pulm was my weak aspect so I revised capnograohy again and did some questions on common presentations eg atelectasis vs bronchiectasis vs bronchitis)

Revised algorithms, vaccination and screening schedules every day

SPECIAL ATTENTION TO BIOSTATS!!!!

I did moas of antibiotics, antivirals and antifungals only HOWEVER YOU MUST ALSO DO ONCOLOGY DRUGS! I didn't revise micro because it was my strong suit in med school.

Let me know if you have any questions! I hope you all ace it!

Residency Culture in Medical College of Georgia Pediatrics (Augusta University)

Hello, I'm thinking of signalling this program for residency as a visa requiring IMG. Can IMGs (visa requiring) tell me about the work culture, residency workload, support from PDs and attendings in the program?

Thanks!

What kind of CV should I have for Transitional Year Programs as Visa Requiring IMG

I'm a visa requiring IMG. Have 15 publications, step 2 255 and currently rotating.

I'm thinking about applying to TY to further explore specialties before committing to one. How do I explain this in my PS and interviews? What kind of CV should I have to stand out to TY programs?

If anyone has matched into a TY program this year, please let me know.

Thank you!
